The Shin-Ei "Exciter", often branded as the Companion ME-7, is one of the earliest true multi-effects pedals from the 1970s. Built in Japan by Shin-Ei, the same company associated with the development of the Uni-Vibe.
The ME-7 combines several unusual effects into one treadle-controlled unit:
Volume pedal
Wah-wah (with a reversed sweep compared to a Cry Baby or Vox)
Surf effect (sweepable white noise resembling ocean sounds)
Hurricane effect (wind/tornado-style noise generator)
Siren oscillator effect
The wah is particularly distinctive: toe-down emphasizes bass frequencies, while heel-down emphasizes treble, the opposite of most modern wahs.
Very good condition
Knobs are newer, includes one original knob
